BLACK BOX COMEDY TOURNAMENT

Sept. 9-10, 2011 – DramaTech Theater presents the fourth annual Black Box Comedy Tournament. Eight comedy teams will battle it out in a relentlessly assault of gut-busting hilarity. At the end of every match, the audience will decide which team advances and which one gets eliminated. The last team left standing will receive a coveted performance slot in the Black Box Comedy Festival Friday Big Show!!

BBCT RULES
- TEAMS :: Any groups not otherwise performing in the Black Box Comedy Festival can compete in the tournament. Teams may consist of 1-8 people.
- SHOWS :: Each match will pit two teams against each other. The winning team advances to the next round. The losing team is eliminated.
- PERFORMANCE :: During a BBCT show each team gets a 15min. performance set followed by a 10min. joint performance set. Each set is strictly timed.
- WINNING :: There will be one Representative Judge and Two Independent Judges. At the end of the match the audience votes via applause. The Representative Judge must vote the same way as the audience. The two Independent Judges each will use their improv wisdom to determine which team to vote for. The team with the most votes from the judges wins.
- PLAY NICE :: This is meant to be a friendly competition. Harassment and intimidation during, before or after the performance by either the performers or members of the audience will not be tolerated. The host will not hesitate to eject people or disqualify teams for such behavior.
- STACKING THE AUDIENCE :: Stacking the audience is not only allowed, it’s encouraged.
