2013 BLACK BOX COMEDY FESTIVAL

Sep. 11-14, 2013 – DramaTech Theater presents the tenth annual Black Box Comedy Festival, one of the South’s largest comedy events. This year, we celebrating 10 years of BBCF and 25 years of Let’s Try This! improv comedy troupe at GA Tech. BBCF brings Atlanta’s sprawling community of comedians together with some of the country’s best nationally touring acts. The goal is to entertain audiences and educate the next generation of performers. Last year’s event featured 11 shows, 30 performances and over 200 comedians. This year promises to be an even bigger blow-out anniversary celebration!!

MARCH 1, 2013 – SUBMISSIONS ARE OPEN

The Black Box Comedy Festival is now seeking submissions from improv and sketch groups, stand up comics, instructors and scholarship applicants. There will be an increase in the submission fee for performance groups submitting after April 2013... so submit now! If you are interested in teaching at BBCF 2013, don't be shy. We are always on the look out for new instructors so that we can continue to keep our workshop selection plentiful and diverse. If you are having financial hardship or just want to save some money, apply for our scholarship and potentially get to see shows and take workshops for free!
